Light and space: Jorge Pardo in Berlin


The Cuban-American artist Jorge Pardo works at the intersection of art, design and architecture. His new exhibition in Berlin is about him inspired by our adopted Mexican homeland - and partly produced here in Derenburg.

The glass series "Spaces of Taiwan" by Dagmar Gerke


Dagmar Gerke is one of the many new talents supported by the Harzkristall glass factory and the Gerhard Bürger Foundation. She studied at the University of Applied Science and Art (HAWK) in Hildesheim from 2015 to 2022 and implemented numerous joint projects in the glass factory during her studies. After completing her bachelor's degree in product design, she is currently working on her master's thesis on the topic of “Transparent Memories”.

Carl Benz


Carl Benz, a master class graduate from Burg Giebichenstein University, now works as an independent artist and designer. He had his final project made in Derenburg.

Hubertus Dünnbacke


Hubertus Dünenbacke has been working as a freelance blacksmith and locksmith since 2010. In his art objects and furniture he combines hand-forged iron with cast glass, which he has produced in Derenburg.

Pia Hoff


Pia Hoff, born in Dortmund, lives and works mainly in Spain. Nevertheless, she regularly visits Germany and works in various factories. She was with us in September 2020 and made her “Confetti” series.

Anne Martin


She has been working as a visual artist since 2019. Even before she received her diploma, she presented her own glass exhibits, made in the glass factory, at exhibitions. In 2022, together with our glassmakers, she realized the “HALT” project, which will be shown in an exhibition by the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation in Halle from September 20th to October 30th.

Frida Nottrott


In 2018, the artist Frida Nottrott worked on a project called “End of Myths – Field Study Verdun”, which was presented in October of the same year at the Lyonel Feininger Gallery in Quedlinburg. She combined porcelain with glass and had 100 rotationally symmetrical glass points made, representing bullets from World War I.

Tobias Rehberger


In his installation "Le Ghost" in the art archive of the Canton of Zurich, artist Tobias Rehberger used 111 hand-shaped drop lights in all spectral colors. These drops were all made in Derenburg.

Manfred Schellhorn


Manfred Schellhorn is an independent artist known for his colorful glass artworks. He has had his glass sculptures made in Derenburg for many years.

Fabio Vogel


Fabio Vogel is a freelance designer and lecturer at HAWK Hildesheim. Under his label “Vogel Studio” he designs glass objects in various styles. Fabio Vogel is regularly active in Derenburg to produce his objects.

Tradition and craftsmanship

Our products are mouth-blown in front of the oven at 1,200°C by glassmakers following a tradition dating back over 150 years.
